Worship Director

First Baptist Church Español - Mandeville, LA

Centro Familiar Cristiano - Buenos Aires, Argentina

July 2012 - February 2024

I've had the honor to work with talented vocalists, musicians, under amazing leadership. Playing in a spiritual setting not only has taught me how to connect emotionally with the music and audience, but it has developed an emotional awareness and sensitivity that you only acquire from reading the room. I've learned how to use Planning Services, charts, so that the musicians know which songs to play as well as what key we are playing them in.

NICU & PICU Unit Helper

Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital - Baton Rouge

November 2024 - May 2025

Volunteering at a children’s hospital opened my eyes to the logistical and emotional complexities of pediatric care. As a unit helper, my scope of help was limited but since I spoke Spanish, I translated for families and comforted them especially when the physician didn't bring good news. All of these experiences deepened my grasp of how barriers like health literacy, language, and cost can limit clinical care.

Interlibrary Loan Assistant

LSU Libraries - Baton Rouge, LA

In Spring 2024, I started working in the Interlibrary Loan Department at LSU. During the semester, I worked 6 hours per week, and during the summer, I worked 40 hours per week. My tasks were assigned by my supervisor, but depending on the day, I was responsible for switching between tasks and staying busy. In this role, we collaborated with U.S. libraries to provide requested articles and learning materials, sending them accordingly.

Nurse Assistant

Northshore Skincare & Spa - Covington, LA

During the summer of 2022, I assisted Dr.Kate Barnes in multiple procedures by prepping the patient, cleaning the room before and after the procedures, and keeping track of anything the doctors noticed from the patient.  I was exposed to all procedures ranging from botox applications to CoolSculpting. I also recorded a TikTok video to show future patients the services the clinic has. Click here to see it!

Vacation Bible Summer School Musical Director

Iglesia Bautista Cristo Redentor - Mandeville, LA

During the summers of 2022 and 2023, I had the opportunity to lead worship at my church’s Vacation Bible Summer School for an entire week. I was in charge of the music, worship songs, and choreographies for the kids.Along with my team, we wanted the children to have fun as well as learn about God and the Bible. This was interesting since I had to translate a lot of English songs into Spanish, and had to use a lot of resources from my church in Bogota, Colombia (El Lugar de Su Presencia). With the worship team, we had to write charts for the band, learn new songs, and teach our volunteers the choreographies that went along with the songs. I was also in charge of creating the introduction videos! Click here to see a little bit of the VBS!

Historian

Camellia Hall - Baton Rouge, LA

August 2021 - May 2022

During my freshman year of college, I was the historian for my engineering residence hall. I brainstormed events for the residents at Camellia Hall, especially since most of the residents had reported a high percentage of stress. Along with other members in the council, we came up with events such as "The Breakfast Club," in which residents were served breakfast food from 8 PM - 1 AM. We did an analysis and noticed that most of our residents were up at 1 AM, and wanted some refuel food. We also did a "Pie Your RA" night, in which you either had the option of throwing a pie to your RA, your friend, or a resident coordinator. All of our funds raised were given to Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital.

Notetaker

Louisiana State University.

From fall 21' to spring 24', I was a notetaker for CHEM 1201,CHEM 1202, MATH 2090, CHEM 2262, ENGL 2000, EE 2950, GERM 1101, and MATH 2057. I had no idea what it meant doing so, since I had to upload my notes every day after classes ended. At the beginning, it was hard but as time passed, I got better at it and uploaded them the moment that class ended. In this role, I had to take notes and provide a copy of my lecture notes to a student with a disability.

This role taught me how to be consistent, accountable, and timely with my student, since I knew that my student relied deeply on my notes to help them success academically.  Since English is not my first language, my notes are very detail-oriented since I like to look at my notes and remember why I wrote what I wrote
